The JAX-9B weather facsimile receiver is a very compact and

lightweight solution, incorporating a set of enhanced features that allows

for flexible operation.

Fine half-tone recording - Pictures of clouds can be recorded in 16 gradation levels. This digital method ensures

high resolution recording, using a proprietary system that finely reproduces maps and latitude and longitude grids

with very fine and accurate lines.

Synthesized receiver - The Built-in synthesized receiver is capable of setting any receiving frequency from the ten

-key pad, and is able to preset up to 90 spot frequencies in the memory. This feature is very effective when receiv-

ing any new broadcast frequency and changing the station frequency.

Compact, lightweight design - The JAX-9B weather fax is remarkably compact and lightweight, allowing for a

more flexible installation approach in confined spaces.

New enhanced interfaces - All received faxes can be displayed on your own OC, allowing you to view (and save)

the image before seeing the actual recorded image. This function allows you to quickly view the image digitally,

which greatly facilitates the need for immediate decisions. On top, the JAX-9B can also be configured for remote

maintenance. JRC has developed a unique function that is capable for remotely monitoring and analyzing for any

faults that may occur in the system, allowing for prompt action and service.

FURUNO 8 Inch Weather Facsimile Receiver/Recorder

The FAX408 provides weather charts and satellite images in nine gray levels on 8"

thermal paper. Electronic scanning and thermal head printing in nine shades of

gray produce high quality facsimile images, while minimal mechanical components

allows for an incredibly quiet operation. All known facsimile channels in the 2-25

MHz band are pre-programmed, and an additional 164 user-programmable

channels are available. Fully automatic operation as available via programmable

schedule timer.

Additional Features:

 Fully automatic selection of speed, IOC, phase alignment and frequency. Manual

selection also available

 ISB shift function tracks frequency of SSB multiplex broadcasts whose frequencies

typically shift 1-2 kHz

 Signal from external receiver may also be recorded

 Automatic start/stop circuit provided in accordance with WMO standard

 Automatic channel selection by judging the quality of signal reception

 Full automatic operation by a built-in schedule timer (16 programs can be set per

week for automatic operation)
